Students Face Changes in Use of Campus Computers
If you are a returning UCBA student this year, you will know that the process of logging in and printing in the Computer Concourse has changed.
Now to log in to the computers and the Wi-Fi, you will need to use your central login that you use to access your student email, Blackboard and One Stop. This new log in system is universal around the whole University, meaning your Wi-Fi and login password will be the same, if you go to Clifton or Clermont campuses.
Logging in to the computers doesn't just keep track of when you use the computer; it also keeps track of your printing credits. Each UCBA student has 200 single-sided printing credits ($10) at the start of each semester. If you go over your credits, it will cost you $.05 for each single-sided sheet or $.08 for each double-sided sheet.
Students from other UC colleges who take classes here get a $2.50 credit. Students from other UC colleges who do not take classes here may pay to print.
The way to print has also changed. Prior to this semester, you were able to just print anything you wanted and pick it up at the printer, but not anymore. When you print a document, your username (6+2) will show up on a monitor beside the printers. Click on your name and select your printing job, and it will print.
Things have changed in the new semester year, but this new system is more convenient and secure for University students. If you have any questions on the new policy, see Dale Hofstetter, Interim Director of Network Resources in the UCBA Computer Concourse.
