Next school year, the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash campus will be offering two great experiences for study abroad. One will travel to Britain and France, and the other will go to Quebec.
Students in the British Study Abroad Program will be offered the opportunity to take classes on media and/or literature, while those in the Quebec Study Abroad Program will study the French language and get accustomed to the culture and lifestyle of Quebec.
Afternoons and weekends will frequently be the students' free time to explore the diverse cities and their surroundings.
During the British study abroad trip, students will spend a month in Great Britain and France in May of 2014. Students will study writers and the history, culture, media and communication of the cities, tentatively planned from May 4-June 3.
Students will also have free weekends where they can travel independently to a European city of their choice. This trip will include London, Manchester, Westminster Abbey, and BBC Television Studios in England, plus Paris, the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, the Palace of Versailles, and Notre Dame Cathedral in France.
The cost is $3,900, but there are grants and scholarships you can apply for. The cost includes airfare, room and board, transportation, and admission for all the field trips. The application deadline is November 15, 2013; you will also need a $200 deposit as well.
On January 1, 2014, the second payment will be due. The last payment will be due in April 2014. For further information, contact Professor Mike Roos (513) 745-5764 or email michael.roos@uc.edu.
On the Quebec study abroad trip, students will study the French language and the French Canadian culture in Quebec City, Canada, in the summer of 2014 also. Students will take language classes in the morning and explore the city in the afternoons and weekends.
The trip will include a tour of old Quebec, La Citadelle, the Montreal Jazz Festival, whale watching in Tadoussac and much more. The trip will be from June 15-28. The cost will be $2,000 plus UCBA Tuition.
The application and a $200 deposit are due on November 14, 2013. The first payment will be due on March 3, 2014, and then, on April 25, 2014, the final payment is due.
For further information, contact Professor Jody Ballah (513) 745-5657 or email her at jody.ballah@uc.edu.
