On October 8, 2013

This Spring Semester the UCBA Behavioral Science Department will be featuring a new course, Special  Topics in Psychology: Disabilities, PSYC 2095-001. The class, which will meet Tuesdays 11-12:20 will be a hybrid course taught by Dr. Diane Fiebel, Professor of Psychology and Licensed Psychology.
Says Dr. Fiebel, "This course will cover the major disorders and disabilities in the field of psychology. The basics of the new DSM-V will serve as the structure of the course.  Supplementary material covering videos and case studies of different behaviors, symptoms, diagnoses, assessments, and therapies will round out the functional aspects of the course.
"Students will work in small groups to perform role plays and complete small projects to enhance their understanding of disorders and disabilities. The course will be helpful for any student in social science such as psychology, sociology and social work, and criminal justice but also for those going into the healthcare fields."
