Speakers to Cover Truth and Rescuers
UC Blue Ash College will be offering two important free lectures for the public in the coming weeks.
On Feb. 27 at 7 p.m., UC College of Law Professor Mark Godsey will talk on "Truth and Eyewitnesses: The Ohio Innocence Project."
Professor Godsey is an award-winning teacher, one of the leading scholars of his generation on the issue of police interrogation, and a nationally recognized attorney and authority on the wrongful conviction of the innocent.
This lecture is part of the UCBA Community Conversations Series.
On March 4 at 7:30 p.m., Dr. Lawrence Baron from San Diego State University will speak on "The Reluctant Rescuer from Schindler's List to Hotel Rwanda."
This lecture traces and accounts for the shift from the image of rescuers of victims of genocide and persecution as courageous heroes, like Raoul Wallenberg, to more morally ambiguous characters, like Oskar Schindler and Paul Ruseabagina.
Dr. Baron has held the Nasatir Chair of Modern Jewish History at San Diego State and directed its Jewish Studies Program. He has authored four books and is the founder and current president of the Western Jewish Studies Association.
Both events will be held in Muntz 119 and are free of charge and open to the public.
