Reports of Robberies at School Deli
By Zachary Lucas
School is supposed to be a place where you can relax and the only thing you have to worry about is your studies, but lately I feel like I have a better chance of getting robbed by the person behind the counter of Montague's Deli then I do at an ATM on the corner of Liberty and McMillan at 3 in the morning.
I can understand that the owner needs to make a profit on the products they sell, but when I have $3 and the only thing I can afford is one bagel, that's a problem.
The school should be regulating on the prices of the deli since it is their students that suffer because of it. Ohio is already one of the most expensive states to go to school in without Montague's Deli's prices making it that much harder.
I think the Deli should lower their prices or be asked to leave the UCBA campus because as students here at this campus we deserve the best services the school could possibly make available to us.
What Are You Having?
By Michole Smith
When it comes to prices, convenience, and quality you have to decide on how important these categories are to you. Most of us love to stay in bed as long as possible before jumping out to start a busy day.
No worries about breakfast, on your way to work just stop and pick something up. If you're an early bird, or pressed for time it is very convenient to grab your meal at your place of work or school.
Convenient it is, but not cost efficient.
In my opinion convenient food always costs more than it's worth, lacking the quality of a meal properly prepared at home. We have to also consider why we consume such large amounts of overly priced processed foods. Could our senses play a role in this?
We see the food, so there for we want the food? Or is it the aroma? What about the fact that most people have a tendency to eat when they see other people eating.
Another factor that bothers me about "convenient" food is that the healthy choices always cost much more than the cheeseburgers or pizzas. Are we being punished for eating healthily?
When you're the sole restaurant on campus you can do things like charge patrons $5.59 for salads, and $1.48 for a cup of ice.
The point is, that when I am spending at least ten dollars for one meal, I would at least like to spend it with a customer friendly establishment. Wouldn't you?
