Library highlights new staff and on-line features
The RWC Library has announced the arrival of three new staff members this year. Brooke Meyer and Victor Norflee joined the staff in September and work at the circulation desk. They provide reserve material and work on interlibrary loan services.
Brooke Meyer has a BA in Sociology from NKU and has worked in the public libraries of Cincinnati and at UC Langsam Library.
Victor Norflee has served in the military, working in the audiovisual library at Nellis Air Force Base, as well as the Roesh Library at the University of Dayton and at UC Langsam Library.
Another staff member new to the RWC library is Allison Rolfes, who is on temporary assignment, providing reference and instruction assistance for the 2006-2007 academic year. She has worked at Thompson Learning publishers as Associate Development Editor for Accounting Texts. She is a recent recipient of her Masters in Library Science from the University of Kentucky.
The library is also proud to welcome a new crew of student staff members this year: Monique Kennerly, Sarah Stevens, Patrick Foster, Puja Mody, and Elizabeth O'Dom. Sam Goldsberry is a returning student staff member. He has put in extra time and hard work while the library hired new staff.
Redesigned Library Catalogue
Expect to see changes in the UC Library Catalogue this year. The look and feel are different and include new features to improve functionability and searchability. Library staff say it is easier to use.
The new features include Keyword, Title, Subject, Journal, and Number searching. You can also search by location, date, and/or material. There is now a Tips For Using the Catalogue page that provides helpful information for doing searches.
Other News
You can now take your gently used magazines to the library, as well as your paperback books to donate. You can also browse the racks and pick up some new material for yourself. That way, you can get rid of magazines that you've already read and get something new.
