Exam Week Stresses Students
As this semester comes to a quick end after we've stuffed our faces on Thanksgiving and spent all of our money buying things we don’t need on black Friday, we all came back realizing that we only had one more week of classes before it is the dreaded final exam week.
Everyone is dealing with stress as the holiday season is in full motion now. Christmas is coming up and those who celebrate are trying to find time to go out and buy presents for friends and family. As us college students know, the week after Thanksgiving is the last week we have to cram for all of those exams we didn’t realize we had.
The university sets an exam schedule so that no classes will overlap so that there isn’t a chance that you could have two exams going on at the same time. However, some professors don’t like to follow this university wide schedule. Talking to a few students they had been talking about how their professor decided they would have the exam during the normal class time which just so happened to be when another one of that student's exams were going on. There is a reason why the university put the schedule into place, and it can really mess with the students when professors change things up.
Stress is all around us during finals week. Many of us worry about getting classes mixed up or sleeping through the final. Then once you take the final, there is the anxiety of waiting to hear about what you got, and at that point there is no way to change what you got.
Dealing with stress can be a difficult thing. Everyone has different ways of working with stress to turn it into a positive thing. So during fina's week, take a deep breathe and instead of thinking about all the things that could go wrong, think about all those A’s you’ll be getting on those finals.
