Video Games: "Devil May Cry" Gets a New Look
"Devil May Cry" has changed. In this edition of the game, Dante has an extremely different look from the previous versions, but it is a really good game.
The Dante is back with his iconic blade, Rebellion, and his twin pistols, Ebony and Ivory. Also Dante is no longer a half demon. He is a Nephilium, which is a fusion of demon and angel.
Another thing is that when Dante meets his twin brother, the memories that he has forgotten start to come back. Together the two of them work as a team to plot how to take down Mundus, the Demon King, to get revenge for their angel mother's death and their demon father's exile.
The story telling from past "Devil May Cry" games has always been fun. But in this edition of "Devil May Cry," the story telling is on a whole other plain. Ninja theory has done an excellent job by making the actors' performances top of the line, and the game is very stylish and subtle. The story telling is so good to the point I wish that there was more story to tell.
The visuals are also mind blowing and are designed to go well with the game. When Dante gets pulled into limbo, everything changes, and the things that you see are levels getting ripped apart, with pieces of them just floating erratically.
But don't get me wrong; the battlefields have a good look and are very unique. I know it took a while to design these graphics and imagine this game because of how the effects are shown and displayed at each point in the game.
"Devil May Cry" has always been known for its insane combat, and this version doesn't disappoint. You can do some off the wall things, and doing them is easy to understand.
Now look at Dante. He is in regular human mode for most of game. That means he uses Rebellion and his choice of firearm. But if you hold down one trigger, it will transform Rebellion into a demon weapon, and if you hold the other trigger you will get the angel weapon.
They all pack a punch as well. These weapons can also be used in one big combo if you choose to do so.
The only hard thing about this game is really trying to lock on to certain enemies, because there isn't a lock on button.
But all in all, "Devil May Cry" is a truly sick game. It received an 8.5 Rating on IGN.
