College Begins Offering Counseling Services
On October 28, UCBA began offering psychological counseling services on campus for the first time since the 1980s. Licensed counselor Jill Trigg will now be available at UCBA 20 hours per week.
Trigg was hired to help students here who experience stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, family issues, and many other challenges and disorders.
"Drawing upon the assistance of a professionally licensed and trained counselor/therapist is a normal, natural, and promising step towards coping with these issues and moving ahead positively," stated UCBA Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs Greg Metz.
Trigg's office is in Muntz Hall, Room 118A, and her counseling services will be free and available to all enrolled students. Her hours are the following:
Monday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Thursday, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Friday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Appointments must be made in Muntz Hall, Room 140, with Frances Lowery.
One goal of the service is to help students maintain the UC Bearcat Bond, which is as follows:
"As a member of the University of Cincinnati, I will uphold the principles for a Just Community and the values of respect, responsibility, and inclusiveness. I will promote the highest levels of personal and academic honesty and aspire continuously to better myself, the Bearcat community, and the world."
For more information, contact the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, Greg Metz, in Muntz 140.
