Two Workshops to Prepare for Career Fair
On Wednesday, March 13, UCBA will hold a Career Fair open to all students from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The fair will be held on the first floor of Walters Hall.
In order to prepare for the Fair, students are advised by the Career Services office to print an updated copy of their résumé, assemble an outfit (either business casual or professional attire appropriate), pick up a copy of the attending companies list (available in the Career Services office, Muntz Hall, Room 125) and highlight companies in which they are interested.
Students should wear their business casual/professional clothing (attendees may win a prize for being the best dressed), bring multiple printed copies of a résumé, network with and discuss potential job openings/career paths with corporate representatives, and set up interviews with companies in which students take interest.
For more information, contact Tresha Lewis in Career Services, Muntz 125 (across from the Bookstore), 513-745-5671.
In anticipation of the Fair, the UCBA Career Services Office will be holding two workshops for students on Friday, March 1.
A morning workshop will go from 11-11:50 a.m., and an afternoon workshop will be hosted from 12-12:50 p.m. Both workshops will be held in Muntz Room 351.
Attendees will be able to learn how to make a lasting impression, what to do before the Career Fair, what to expect on the "big day," when it is appropriate to discuss various topics, and how one can benefit from attending the Fair.
Students may either sign up in advance by contacting the Career Services office or simply walk in for the workshops.
For more information, contact the UCBA Career Services office, in Muntz Room 125 (across from the bookstore) or call 513-745-5671.
Career Services will also continue to host Drop-In Days every first Tuesday of the month through the rest of the semester as well as two Walk-In Weeks.
On Drop-In Days and during Walk-In Weeks, assistance will be provided for career counseling, career assessments, major or career research resources, resumé help, interviewing tips, networking ideas, job search techniques, and advice regarding what students may do in the near future to assist in finding employment later on down the road.
Remaining Drop-In Days will be March 5 and April 2, while Walk-In Weeks will be February 25-28 and April 8-11. During these days, walk-in meetings will be available from 9 a.m. -3 p.m.
Career Services advises students to take advantage of these dates for any of the above reasons or simply to see how staff can help.
Students should take note that visitors will be seen on a first-come, first serve basis and that walk-in appointments have a 20-minute time limit if another student is currently waiting for assistance.
