De-Stress for Success
Now that school has come to an end, the only thing that many of us can think about is, "When do we get to start partying?" Well, we all have to get through this last obstacle called FINAL EXAMS.
After the long weekend for Memorial Day, it's hard to get back in the saddle and study, but it must be done! Instead of dreading it and freaking out though, there are great ways to stay focused and de-stress to get good grades on finals.
Use time management and have a set time to study for each exam. Make sure you check your syllabi and be prepared for each exam. Pace yourself and don't get overwhelmed with too much material at once. Make sure you understand the concepts for one class thoroughly before studying for another.
Try to stay away from junk food or too much caffeine. You want your brain to work at its best capacity and chemicals can alter that. Too much caffeine can cause you to crash a lot easier, so instead try to get 6 to 8 hours of sleep and eat a good breakfast before studying.
As tempting as it may be, skip the weekend parties and focus instead. There is the whole summer for going crazy, but you owe it to yourself to do the best you can on your finals.
Try to form a study group or at least one other person in your classes to study with. It's always helpful to share ideas and answers to make sure you're on the same page.
And lastly, instead of stressing, take a minute and just be proud of yourself. You've made it the whole year and this will be your last exams for a while so pat yourself on the back because after this awful last week, you can do whatever you want!
