Video Games: Pokémon Gets 3D Makeover

With the release of some pretty important things this year for the gaming industry came one thing that many people may overlook as a game designed for children-the sixth generation of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.
The game has innovated every year since its first release in 1995 and added new content, but the jump to this game from the last is truly phenomenal.
There are currently over 700 Pokémon [characters?] and hundreds are easily available to you in one game without having to trade over from different versions.
The game has had a huge overhaul by redesigning every single move and Pokémon in 3D for the 3DS.
Not every area is designed in 3D, but there are certain areas that are. The game no longer has the flat 2D format that it has maintained over the past five generations.
The game offers many new things besides Pokémon and changing the style of the world.
Mega evolutions allow new power to be drawn from previously old Pokémon that have been around since the very beginning.
The game plays the same as all the others: catch and train Pokémon, defeat the eight Gym Leaders, and finally beat the Elite Four and the Champion to become the new Pokémon League Champion.
However, with the stylistic changes and the new feel and look of the game, for me it feels like the first time I started playing Pokémon Red and Blue back in 1998 following their American release.
These games offer hours of entertainment and plenty of nostalgia for old players, while still making it easy for new players to join in on the fun.
There are very few games I think others should go out of their way to buy, but this is most certainly one of them.
