Every year, UCBA holds a wonderful event celebrating the uniqueness of cultures all
around the world. This week is full of learning, joy and revelry as people of
all cultures band together in celebration of one another.

The festivities begin on Thursday, April 19th at 7:00 p.m. with the Holocaust Remembrance Day, to be held in Muntz Hall room 119. Speakers include a Holocaust survivor, a U.S. Army Officer, and two second-generation survivors. Attendees will be treated to a Question & Answer session with the speakers, as well as a reception following in the school library from 8:30- 9:00 p.m.

Worldfest begins officially at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23rd, in several different UCBA locations. In the lobby of Muntz, images of UCBA students, teachers and staff will be shown, presenting
the cultural melting pot that is the UCBA community. Meanwhile, in Flory 140,
the Peace Conference will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. discussing the
topic of "The Impact of Social Media on Arab Spring and Beyond." If you fancy a
walk around campus, feel free to join "UCBA's Green Walk for Health," beginning
at 11:30 and ending at 2:00 p.m. Later that day, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in
Muntz 253, the History Club and French Club will be showing a French film
entitled "Indochine."

On April 24th the "Diversity Mentor Program Launch" begins at
11:30 a.m. in SAHB 100. Cultural dishes will be served, as one is encouraged to
mingle among the faculty members who will be participating in this new program.
The launch will last until 1:00 p.m.

Activities on Wednesday, the 25th, begin with the Diversity Fair at 11:00 a.m. In the
Commons, booths will be set up representing groups like the Multicultural Council, International Student Group, the Cultural Diversity Committee, Pathways and
others. At the same time in the Courtyard several different performers will be
featured. Beginning at 11:12, Anthony Malone, UCBA Math instructor, will be performing
a jazz tribute to Frank Foster. At 12:00, famous poet Carolyne D. Wright will
be reading some of her works. At 12:50, John Kraimer, director of UCBA Disabilities
Services, will be performing.

On Thursday, April 26, Muntz lobby will be hosting "Reading Across Cultures" from 11:30 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m. Come and enjoy prose and poetry read by faculty, staff, and
students as well as trivia with refreshments and prizes.

And finally, Friday, April 27th will wrap up the week with a cookout in the courtyard, a wind, jazz, and R&B band as well as basketball and volleyball for those
interested.

Please take time out of your busy schedule to enjoy this exciting week and all that it holds. It will be an incredible event full of fun and enlightenment. Don't miss out.
