Video Games: "NBA 2K13" Begins New Era in Gaming
"NBA 2K13" has been dramatically improved over the "2K12" version. The creators of the NBA 2K series, 2K Sports, have really stepped their game up.
There has been an added dimension to the "2K13" game, and that is the new crossover control on the right analog stick. This allows you to set up defenders as you would on the court in real life.
Also, Jay-Z is a consultant to curate the sound track for the game. One song on the game that I really like is "I Ain't No Joke," by Eric B. and rakim. That means the music will go along with how the game is set up and will be good music to listen to.
"2K13" even added some things to the Nike ID shoe creator. This allows you to create shoes on the game that your player can wear, and the shoes can also be exported to NikeID.com so they can be made in real life. Wouldn't it be great to have your own shoe made by Nike?
The game also features the awesome original Dream Team. Yes, the Dream team is back with many players who were all-stars in their prime.
With all that said, "2K13" finds a way to impress me again by putting Justin Bieber in the game with his own celebrity team. At first, I thought I was seeing things, but Bieber turned out to have game.
This game has really made the visual effects much better. They have tired players holding their shorts in timeouts and made minor detail changes to players. For example, after Kevin Durant makes a shot, he puts one figure up the same way he does in real life.
Every player's major moves have been recreated to show off their entire arsenal. Also, the menu pulses to the music being played, and the new menu in this year's edition are just as confusing as last year.
The flow of the game just feels right. It is very smooth playing. "2K13" is what I believe is the beginning of a new basketball gaming era.
