Bengals Return to Winning Ways
The Cincinnati Bengals and Andy Dalton came into last week's game against the defending World Champion New York Giants on a four-game losing streak but put together their best performance of the season and emerged victorious.
Andy Dalton had a career high in touchdown passes with four.
Dalton was 21-30 for 199 yards passing in the game. Another key statistic was that he wasn't sacked and didn't throw an interception, as he has in all the other games he has played this season.
Also prior to the game, wide receiver A.J. Green had been on a New York radio show and said, "The Giants have a lot of holes" in their defense. I kind of believe him now after the Bengals racked up 31 points.
Green, who caught the first of Dalton's four touchdown passes, believes this game was a big stepping-stone for the Bengals.
The Giants are now feeling a lot of pressure going into their off week, with back to back losses. Eli Manning had another poor display of decision making and just some awful throws. The Giants have now lost two in a row but still have a winning record at 6-3, despite their poor play the past few weeks.
Manning isn't living up to the family history against the Bengals. A week earlier, Eli's brother Peyton played the Bengals and came out with a victory to boost his record against the Bengals to 8-0.
So Eli and the Giants need to go back to the drawing board. Eli was sacked a season high four times by a defense that barely touched his brother. He also threw two interceptions from being under extreme pressure by the Bengals.
Even though Manning finished with decent numbers, completing 29-46 for 215 yards, he had no touchdown passes and is now 1-2 in his career against the Bengals.
Hopefully, this game will mark a turning point in the season for the Bengals.
