Bearcats in the NFL
The NFL is finally over and man, what a jam packed three days it was. The University of Cincinnati represented well in this year's draft class. All together five bearcats entered and four of their dreams came true.
The first Bearcat to go was talented defensive lineman Derek Wolfe. Chosen high in the second round with the 36th pick by the Denver Broncos; he will surely have an impact on that struggling front seven.
The next Bearcat to enter the NFL was electrifying running back Isaiah Pead. Pick 50th overall to the St. Louis Rams, he was chosen to bring some relief to the workload that current running back Steven Jackson carries. With over 80% of the carries Steven surely needs someone to step in for him and Pead will be the new relief back to the Pro-Bowler.
John Hughes, another defensive lineman, will be staying in Ohio as he goes to Cleveland in the 3rd round. The 87th overall pick will help a defense that was practically nonexistent last year in the AFC North.
The last Bearcat taken was tight end Adrien Robinson. Taken by my favorite team, the World Champion New York Football Giants chose Robinson in the 4th round, 127th overall. He should complement the offense well since the Giants need a lot of help with the tight end position, where a lot of players have been injured.
In total four of five football players were chosen for this year's draft, which is always appealing to future commits.
