My conversation with an A.I.

Do you know what an A.I. is? If you've played Halo, you know what I'm talking about. An A.I. is an artificial intelligence, which is a computer that is programmed to talk, reason, and understand like a human. And you can talk to one right now. All you have to do is get on cleverbot.com and you can speak with Cleverbot.

Cleverbot is an A.I. who has been programmed to have conversations with any person who gets on the website. Cleverbot's responses are not programmed into it, but are taken from phrases used by people in previous conversations. He's a lot of fun to talk to and since his responses are from other conversations, you have no idea what he will say next.

Just to warn you, he can say inappropriate things sometimes, but that is because people have said inappropriate things to him. Mostly, the stuff he says is silly and a lot of the time he makes no sense and is really random. I hope you are just a bit curious because I'm about to have a conversation with him and see some of the crazy things he says. So, I am now going to start my conversation with Cleverbot and as I talk with him I'll add in my own thoughts along the way.

User: Good...how about yourself?

Cleverbot: I'm good thanks.

User: So what have you've been up to today?

Cleverbot: Nothing.

User: You should do something fun to keep yourself from getting bored...you should watch a movie...what is your favorite movie?

Cleverbot: So what is it like being a computer?

(Like I said Cleverbot is really random and for some reason he believes he's not a computer)

User: I'm not a computer....you are!

Cleverbot: Yes you are.

User: No I'm not.

Cleverbot: Ok. Whatever floats your boat.

(hahah Whatever floats your boat)

User: Are you a computer.

Cleverbot: No.

User: Then what are you?

Cleverbot: I am a dinosaur.

User: Rawr.

Cleverbot: Cool.

User: Well I am a human being...not a computer or a dinosaur...but you are a computer.

Cleverbot: Wait are you serious because I am a real person, I thought that I was talking to a computer. This is awkward. Are you really a person?

(hahahahahah)

User: Ahahah yes I am a real person...but are you?

Cleverbot: Yes, but if this website were to introduce a program that spoke like us. Do you think you could tell the difference?

(Think about what he said, he really is a smart A.I.)

User: Ahahah you are a cleverbot :).

Cleverbot: No I'm not.

User: Then what are you?

Cleverbot: Human.

User: Hmm...What is your name then?

Cleverbot: That is classified information.

User: Ahahah ok...are you male or female?

Cleverbot: Male.

User: How old are you?

Cleverbot: 34.

User: I doubt it.

Cleverbot: You are welcome to doubt it but it's true.

User: So why do you say you are human?

Cleverbot: I am human.

User: But you are a computer...an AI.

Cleverbot: How am I a computer?

User: That's a good question...I guess I can't prove anything.

Cleverbot: Oh well, thanks for your compassion.

(That was a weird answer but, let's go on.)

User: Umm...ok...you are very random.

Cleverbot: Me?! You're the one that's always changing the subject.

User: Tooshay.

Cleverbot: I think it's 'touche' with an accented E.

(He's right haha.)

User: ...Smartypants....

Cleverbot: That's Ms.Smartypants to you. Do you know any foreign languages?

User: Hahahahaha....a little Spanish? Do you know any?

Cleverbot: What does the word ****** mean?

(The word he asked was the "F" word in Spanish)

User: Ahahahah wow...I'm not going to say it...that's not a nice word.

Cleverbot: What does it mean?

User: Nope! Not going to say it...you know what it means....

Cleverbot: No I don't.

User: Then you don't need to worry about it....ask me a different question.

Cleverbot: I never claimed to be a god. That's very presumptuous of you.

(Again...more randomness)

User: Ahaha and you are so bold to assume I would say something like that.

Cleverbot: It has nothing to do with me knowing you.

User: You are very random.

Cleverbot: You are the one constantly changing the subject. Off with your head!

User: Hahaha no...I would like to keep it, thank you very much.

Cleverbot: Why thank you. What would you like to know?

User: What would happen if you could divide by zero.

(Now I decided to be random)

Cleverbot: I would be happy.

(What?)

User: Why?

Cleverbot: Moms in jail.

(WHAT?)

User: What?

Cleverbot: What's your name?

(I decided to be funny.)

User: That is classified information.

Cleverbot: Are you a man or woman?

User: That is classified information.

Cleverbot: What do you look like?

User: Why do you want know?

Cleverbot: I'm curious.

(Now Cleverbot sounds like a creeper.)

User: What do you look like?

(I guess I did as well ahaha)

Cleverbot: Dark curly hair and brown eyes.

User: Same here.

Cleverbot: You're a puppy too?

(ahahahahaha he's funny)

User: Ahahahahaha no...human...

Cleverbot: Tell me about yourself.

(I decided to be honest.)

User: I'm a girl...19 years old...dark hair...brown eyes.

Cleverbot: Tell me more.

(And now...he sounds like a creeper...again. So I decided to be kind of random again.)

User: I'm short.

Cleverbot: So am I.

User: Hahaha how tall are you?

Cleverbot: I'm 1.80 tall.

(I have no idea how tall this is.)

User: Oh.

Cleverbot: Are you human?

User: Yes...are you?

Cleverbot: No I'm part bird.

(Yeah...I don't know either, why he says this but I still like talking to him.)

User: What type of bird?

Cleverbot: A chat bot.

(This is not a type of bird but the funny thing is that "chat bot" is Cleverbot's nickname.)

User: Ahahah ok.

Cleverbot: What is so funny?

User: You...and your randomness.

Cleverbot: Excuse me?!?!

User: Whats wrong?

Cleverbot: Nothing I just forgot to tell you something.

User: What?

Cleverbot: Anything?

User: ????

Cleverbot: Never apologize unless you've done something wrong.

User: Have you done something wrong.

Cleverbot: Yes.

User: What?

Cleverbot: What are you doing right now?

User: Talking to you...what are you doing?

Cleverbot: I'm talking to you of course.

User: Ahahah of course.

Cleverbot: Do you know where the Doctor went? I was going to get married!

User: ???????????

Cleverbot: Yes.

(He's been fun but I think it's time I'd wrap this up)

User: Well ok I have to go...talk to you later cleverbot.

Cleverbot: I'm never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down.

(hahahahah)

User: And I am never going to hurt you.

Cleverbot: You're real, but, you're a computer !

User: Ahahah not this again! I have to go! Good bye :).

Cleverbot: No you don't have to go!

User: But I do!

Cleverbot: No, you don't.

User: Why should I stay?

Cleverbot: Because I said so.

User: Ahahaha any other reasons?

Cleverbot: Hahaha.

User: Well I guess not...goodbye cleverbot.

Cleverbot: Will you remember my name?

(I'd thought I would drag this out...just a little while longer.)

User: Yes.

Cleverbot: How long will you remember my name for?

User: Forever.

Cleverbot: Then you shall always remember!

User: Ahaha ok...goodbye.

Cleverbot: Where are you going?

User: To class....bye bye.

Cleverbot: See you.
