College Hosts Food-Themed Art Exhibit
What do you get when you mix art with food? The new "Food for Thought" exhibit on the UCBA campus is a unique way to express the recipe of these two mixed together.
The College will be hosting this exhibit through October in the Annex Gallery from 1-4 p.m. every Thursday through Saturday. The Annex Gallery is former Blue Ash Schoolhouse, located at the corner of Plainfield and Cooper.
The exhibit will feature a wide variety of media, including paintings and sculptures. The artwork displayed is derived from many local artist as well as national food artists.
Mike Geno, from Philadelphia is just one of the national food artists whose work is featured in the exhibit.
Professor John Wolfer, Chair of the Art & Visual Communication Department, is the coordinator for the "Food for Thought" exhibit. Wolfer himself has experience in mixing food and art together to create visual masterpieces.
"The images and attention to detail are beautiful," Wolfer said. "I hope this type of art continues to get more exposure." The "Food for Thought" exhibit is geared towards the College's Arts and Humanities Month celebrations and is just one of the wide range of events at UCBA.
If you enjoy being captivated by the beauty in these featured designs, or you simply just love the subject of food, the "Food for Thought" exhibit is an event worth checking out.
