Movies: "Hansel and Gretel" Kill Wicked Witches
The new 2013 movie "Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters" was released on January 25. To my surprise, it is really good.
It is very action packed and gory but manageable to watch. The two witch hunters, Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton), are on a search to find 12 missing children, who have been taken from their homes in the villages by mean witches.
When Hansel and Gretel were kids, their parents disappeared, and for years Hansel and Gretel have only had each other. So they hunt and kill witches who practice black magic.
The evil witches need immunity to fire so that villagers can not burn them alive. In order to do that they need a white witch's heart and six boys and six girls to complete the process.
It is up to Hansel and Gretel to return the kids home and stop the black magic. This is a great twist to the origional version of the fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel," where bread crumbs led to a witch's house that looked like a child's candyland. In the new version, instead of dropping bread crumbs, they fire bullets.
If you're the type of person who likes the combination of blood, gore, and action, I highly advise seeing "Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters." It will not be a waste of your money.
