The Internet: Google+ Leaps Into Social Networking Field

Move over Facebook! A new networking site is coming into the networking world. It is called Google+.

Google+ is a new networking site that combines the aspects of Facebook and aspects of Twitter all together in one. How does this work? Well, once people sign up for this site, they are asked to build their profile starting out with their picture.

Next, they chose what people they want to be in their circle of friends and/or followers. After that new members can build connections and start posting their statuses to their select circles.

In case you are wondering what the +1 sign means, the + 1 sign resembles the "like" button on Facebook. So, whenever you search for something on Google, you can click on the +1 sign right next to the website, if you personally like that site.

Another item that is unique to Google+ is the fact the Google+ offers what are called "hangouts." You can create a "hangout" and invite as many people as you want. A "hangout" is a video chat. People can talk to others within their circles about a full range subjects from politics to music to art to education. So in case you missed a class for whatever reason or are taking an online class, you could create one of these "hangouts" on your own with other classmates and talk about what happened that day in class.

It is kind of like a discussion board, only with video chat. This is one thing that Facebook failed to do with their audience.

The real genius behind this idea of Google+ is more than the people who work at Google. It is also Tom Anderson. Yup, you know, that person who was the founder of MySpace.

Since MySpace did not work out for him, he wanted other networking sites to sky rocket. So he decided to join Google and started promoting Google+.

According to pcworld.com, Anderson said, "And unlike Facebook, Twitter, or anyone else, Google already has the most advanced set of products. In the past week, I've started to toy with Blogger and Picasa. Why switch to Gmail, I used to think? Yahoo will do just fine. I've been using Gmail more and more."

So in other words, Google+ has not only become a new network, but it also has created a new perspective to others on using Google more often.
