Careers, Choices and Careers...What to do?
Options are available for those figuring out their major or career goals
You've seen the signs hanging up everywhere you go. Career Services is having a Walk in Week. From Jan. 30 through Feb. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. all you have to do is stop by. That's right! No appointment is necessary. Career Services can help you make and add on to a resume, help you with choosing a major and give you good tips on what you should and should not do when it comes to a job interview. Since the meetings are first come first serve, the meetings are only 20 minutes long so be prepared when you go in to talk with them. The Career Service Office is in Muntz 125 which is located across the hall from the UCBA bookstore. So if you need help with choosing a major, with fixing a resume or if you just want to ask some quick questions just stop on by and you can be just that much closer to getting your career started.

The Exploring Majors Fair is another useful event for students. What is the Exploring Majors Fair? On Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Muntz Hall, booths will be set up in the main hallways. Each booth contains different majors to choose from and explore. It's a great way to figure out what you want your major to be and if you are unsure of what you want to do, there is an booth for those who are undecided to look at and it can help push you in the right direction. Some of the booths will include Procter and Gamble, UC Health and Fitness and Sinclair Broadcasting.
There is so much to learn as you go from booth to booth. You can ask if there is any available work in your field of study and where. You can also learn how to make and add onto a resume. As you go from booth to booth you can talk to different alumni who graduated from a UCBA program and you can ask them questions about what they do, how they got to where they are and what's the best course of action to take to achieve what you want to achieve. So if you are confident in your choice of major or if you still don't know what you want to do, take a look around. You will be surprised at what you can learn. Let's not forget that there are door prizes to win for and free popcorn.
