Music: Milo Greene, a Modern Fleetwood Mac
Milo Greene is a cinematic-pop band that came together in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of five members: Robbie Arnett, Marlana Sheetz, Graham Fink, Andrew Heringer (all sharing vocals and various instruments) and Curtis Marrero (percussion).
The band collectively came together in 2009 after writing songs mainly for fun, dismissing the other groups they had been a part of. "We found that the songs were really speaking to us in a way we hadn't felt with our other groups we were all in at the time," Andrew Heringer explained.
After a couple demo sessions took place up in Northern California, in 2010, Milo Greene was finally born.
Their music is full of soft melodies and harmonies, with an indie-folk feel as well. Many of their songs make it possible to feel taken back to an earlier and simpler time. Their big single "1957" is a perfect example of that and can be found on their self-titled album "Milo Greene."
These young artists have done a fulfilling job of making Milo Greene individualistic, without overdoing it. Most other artists couldn't have the perfect blend of voices for their kind of music, and that is how these band members knew they were a perfect fit.
"We really like the idea of the album as a full piece of art," Heringer said. "We spent a lot of time making sure that our album had that continuity to it."
As set apart as this band may want to be, Milo Greene still describes themselves as a "modern Fleetwood Mac," with the downbeat, earthy sound of artists such as Bon Iver or Fleet Foxes.
Milo Greene intends to continue their touring throughout the upcoming months and will begin working on a new album during their off time. They hope for many more albums to follow, as well.
